Primary mononuclear cells (MNCs) derived from the umbilical cord blood (CB) include hematopoietic lineage cells such as lymphocytes, monocytes, stem and progenitor cells as well as mesenchymal stromal cells. Citrate-phosphate-dextrose (CPD) is added to the CB during collection as an anticoagulant. Human cord blood mononuclear cells are separated from umbilical cord blood by means of a density gradient centrifugation protocol. MNCs are screened for the expression CD45 and checked for viability using flow cytometry prior to cryopreservation. This highly pure population of cells makes them ideal for further isolations of specific cell types within the mononuclear fraction
How Is It Done ?
- GrowthTested for cell morphology, proliferation potential, adherence rate, and viability
- Trilineage differentiationEach lot of stem cells is tested to ensure invitro differentiation of osteogenic, adipogenic and chondrogenic lineages
- Sterility TestingBacteria, Yeast, Fungi and Mycoplasma
- Viral Testing Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV
- Specific StainingAnalysed for cell surface markers by Flow Cytometry
Applications
- Adult stem cell differentiation into adipogenic, osteogenic and chondrogenic and lineages
- Regenerative medicine,
- Cell therapy,
- Tissue engineering,
- Generation of iPS cell lines
- In-vitro model for studying disease mechanism, drug discovery
- Wound healing
- Anti-ageing
- In-Vitro screening of immunomodulatory drugs
- Vaccine development, HIV research

Ethical Regulations & Guidelines
All the human stem cells supplied by StemRx are isolated from tissues ethically obtained from donors after getting consent form. Donors are rigorously screened for viral and bacterial markers to ensure the absence of HIV virus, Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus, Cytomegalovirus, Human T-lymphotropic virus, malarial parasites and syphilis to meet the product safety standards. The Institutional ethics committee (IEC) at StemRx Biosciences Pvt Ltd have approved all procedures related to human stem cells.
Manufacturing License
StemRx is the only manufacturer of Bone marrow derived cells in India. We have the manufacturing license to produce: mononuclear cells, natural killer cells, PRP, Mesenchymal stem cells that include Bone marrow derived cells, adipose derived cells, cord blood cells, umbilical cord cells, placenta derived cells, amniotic fluid derived cells
WHO-GMP Compliant Facility
Manufacturing in its own GMP compliant facilities (class 1000)
Cryopreserved at Primary Passage
Each batch of primary cells and stem cells are cryopreserved at passage number one using controlled rate freezer to warrant high viability and functionality of the cells

Reproducibility
Numerous vials of a single lot can be offered upon request which allows researchers to use the same cells for entire experiment
Flexibility
Cells are available in proliferating form in flasks as well as cryopreserved form in vials
